Issue No. 03 explores the spaces between things: between land and water, light and darkness, life and death, the physical and the unseen. Across creative essays, poetry, photo essays, and research-driven stories, this issue looks toward places and ideas that resist easy definition — tide pools that exist only between tides, caves hidden beneath the earth, distant light arriving from stars that may no longer exist, and the moments when our understanding of time, place, and ourselves begins to shift.

Liminal spaces are thresholds. They are places of transition, suspension, and uncertainty, where one state gives way to another but neither feels entirely complete. Throughout this issue, Cypress follows those thresholds from the edge of the ocean to the depths of underwater caves, from the walls of the Grand Canyon to the farthest reaches of space, asking what becomes visible when we spend time at the boundaries of what we know.

Through essays, poetry, photography, and illustration, Liminal is an exploration of the places that seem to exist between worlds — and of the strange, fleeting experience of being here at all.
