Cypress began with a love for making things by hand and a deep affection for the natural world. What started as a few carved prints and road trips to national parks has grown into a shared space for art, writing, and storytelling — a way to slow down, look closely, and create something lasting together.
We’re inspired by those who came before us — John Muir, Ansel Adams, and Theodore Roosevelt, whose reverence for the land helped shape how we see it today. Like them, we create out of love and a desire to preserve what we’ve fallen in love with. In a time when the natural world feels increasingly fragile, we still find hope in the act of making. We believe that art, shared openly, can reconnect us to the places and people that matter most.
Cypress exists to celebrate and preserve the stories found in nature through craft, community, and care for the earth. Whether through hand-carved block prints or the pages of our magazine, our work invites a slower, more connected way of seeing. Through intention and care, we can preserve what truly matters.
