Baths 001—San Francisco

Baths 001 is a bathymetric map of the ocean floor just outside of the San Francisco Bay. Bathymetry, the study of underwater depth of ocean floors, is the underwater equivalent of topography.

This piece is printed on handmade, eco-friendly Lokta paper. Nepalese paper artisans hand-craft Lokta paper out of fibers from the bark of the Lokta bush and dye with colors extracted from plants, seed, root, and dry fruit.
